Main Street Pub 705 E. New Haven Ave., Melbourne, FL 32901 5 Stars Located in Historic Downtown Melbourne, in a building dating back to at least 1947, Main Street Pub opened in 2005 and they don't appear to be leaving anytime soon. This is one of those places you pass a million times and never give it a second thought. I am so glad the name popped up for review, forcing me to stop. This place is truly a hole in the wall. But what a wonderful hole it is! The service manager explained that they slow roast a bottom round daily and slice to order. I requested for one Pub Bleu Sandwich, and to appease those readers who insist that you will live longer avoiding red meat, I ordered one Tuna Salad Sandwich and a Caesar salad. Waiting for my grub, I enjoyed the history of the building I was in. Locals tell of a watering hole here in the 1800s; the actual location of this tale is just behind their Tiki Bar. Seriously cool if you're a history geek. It wasn't long before my chow was ready and after snapping a few pictures, I proceeded to the job at hand. One bite of the Pub Bleu and I knew the service manager to speak true (there is a song in there somewhere). I have never had Bleu cheese this fresh outside of a salad and that roast beef? Holy Bessie on a Rotisserie spit! It was spectacular! The Kaiser roll was just as fresh and the accompanying Au jus was to die for. What a sammich!! Forcing myself to stop at two bites as I had a job to do, not a maw to cram, I grabbed half of the Tuna Salad and took a healthy bite. This is outstanding. If they didn't catch the tuna that morning, I don't know their secret, but this had to be the freshest, tastiest tuna salad I have ever had grace my palate. My final choice was the Caesar salad. This item, like everything else, was made to order. Not only was the dressing spot on but the croutons were made on-site, NOT from Sysco. These immediately took me back to high school and the salad bar in the Senior Cafe at Mel Hi. Remember those

Mainstreet Pub in Melbourne has long enjoyed a loyal local following, but a recent weekend lunch visit offered fresh confirmation of why this unassuming establishment continues to endure. What began as a casual family outing—spurred by a brother-in-law’s long-standing curiosity—quickly turned into a memorable meal anchored by confident service and unexpectedly standout cooking. The menu’s Western New York sensibilities will feel instantly familiar to anyone with roots in Buffalo or Rochester, which made it an especially welcome sight for my wife’s family, all originally from that region. The restaurant’s longtime server, who appears to have been part of the team since its early days, proved to be one of its strongest assets. Her command of the menu, ability to steer guests toward the right selections, and genuine hospitality set the tone for the afternoon. Ambience at Mainstreet Pub is functional rather than transportive—straightforward, pub-appropriate, and comfortable, though not particularly noteworthy. But diners do not come here for aesthetic immersion. They come for the food, and on that front the kitchen more than delivers. Across the table, every entrée arrived well-executed, but one item stood out with unmistakable authority: the Kummelweck sandwich. A proper Beef on Weck is something of a regional litmus test, and Mainstreet Pub’s version is exceptional. The beef is tender and deeply flavorful, the jus balanced, and the kummelweck roll perfectly salted and caraway-studded. As someone who is not a Buffalo native, I offer this praise without hometown bias: it is the best Beef on Weck I have tasted outside Western New York. Paired with a well-curated draft beer selection, it embodies exactly what a pub specialty should be—unpretentious, satisfying, and executed with pride. In a dining landscape where many “pubs” lean heavily on ambience while delivering middling food, Mainstreet Pub reverses the equation. The culinary output is the reason to visit, and it is

We frequent this establishment routinely, like every 2 weeks, and all is always refreshingly fun and interesting. The folks tending to us, "Morgan" & others, are always engaging and fun. The Wednesday "beef wecht" sandwich is awesome! Kimberly and I say thanks to all there!

Great atmosphere and location in downtown area. Easy walking distance to local hotels. I tried the Jameson Orange Crush and Cuban sandwich and both were fantastic.

The place is a staple in historic downtown Melbourne a street or 2 off of where the famous Jim Morrison of The Doors was born. Main St has technically 3 floors, an open area bar, an outside 2nd floor balcony and bar where you get a great view of downtown. The back has a bar, seating and stage where local acts come to rock your night. (Note) to get a table or at the bar during concert times is hard so get there early. The atmosphere is fun, everyone comes here especially for the 2nd floor balcony view. Drinks and munchess' are inexpensive but it's the atmosphere and fun you're after. Amazing place to go again and again and again. Trust me here a good time.

Saw that they had a gyro with tzatziki sauce for a summer special and had side of naan… asked for just the side of naan and tzatziki and I kid you not, it was the best snack I’ve had all year, and I’ve been to Italy this year. Best naan. The table had more food and it was all incredible. So good! Will be returning.

5/5 Stars (A+ Grade) — A Must-Visit for a Real Taste of Buffalo! If you are craving an authentic, flawlessly executed Beef on Weck, you don’t need to buy a plane ticket to Upstate New York. Just head straight to downtown Melbourne, Florida, and find a table at Main Street Pub. This place is the real deal, and they earn a well-deserved, absolute 100% A+ score. The Star of the Show: The Beef on Weck For the uninitiated, the Beef on Weck is a legendary staple born in Buffalo, New York, in the mid-19th century. Legend has it that a German baker introduced the unique roll, and a local pub owner realized that loading it with salty meat would keep patrons thirsty for beer. Main Street Pub honors this tradition perfectly. The key to the sandwich is the kummelweck roll (often pronounced kemmelick), which is topped with coarse kosher salt and caraway seeds. Main Street Pub uses incredibly fresh rolls that strike the perfect balance of savory and salty. Here is what sets them apart: They don't skimp on the meat: They pile the roast beef sky-high. They are not cheap whatsoever; it is loaded up generously. The Au Jus: The beef is incredibly tender, and the au jus sauce they serve with it is phenomenal—rich, savory, and perfect for dipping. The Beer: To wash it all down, they have an excellent selection of ice-cold draft beers on tap that pair beautifully with the salty, savory goodness of the sandwich. The Vibe and Atmosphere Beyond the incredible food, Main Street Pub is a fantastic place to unwind. It’s a very quaint, quiet restaurant with plenty of seating options depending on your mood: The Bar: Step right inside and head directly to the bar for quick service and great conversation. The Patio: Choose to sit outside on the patio to enjoy the Florida breeze. The Covered Outdoor Area: They feature a beautiful covered outdoor seating area—reminiscent of an open-air atrium—where you get a solid roof over your head, but the large doors are kept wide open to let the fresh air in. If you read those best-bars-in-Florida lists, you have probably seen this place on one (or more) of them. Not sure it is equal to the all-time greats (Capt Tony's in Key West, Flora-Bama in the panhandle, Mai-Kai in Overland Park, The Clevelander on South Beach, etc), but it is an awesome Space Coast joint. Three bars (cozy inside, rooftop, and backyard tiki), above-average bar food, awesome staff, and that everybody-knows-your-name vibe! A must-stop in downtown Melbourne and worth the drive if you are anywhere nearby!

Who knew it was more than a bar with live music on the weekends? Yes outdoors there is a tiki bar with live entertainment. Did you know they have entertainment Tuesday thru Saturday? The tiki and outdoor area opens at 4pm. You can enjoy meals from 11am inside the bar or open patio. I stopped for a snack and an adult beverage. The brie plate was the perfect snack. The bartender was very talented and attentive. Totally different vibe day vs night. Try both. Will be back soon!
